Today's Weber Motor GmbH was founded on December 17, 2001 to perfectly supplement the Weber Automotive Group, particulalry due to our more than thirty years of know-how in the high-tech machining of engine and gearbox core components. The Company arose on behalf of the successful development of a completely new compact engine concept, and is fully dedicated to the further development and marketing thereof.


 

1996

Project launch of the engine development between the Albert Weber GmbH and the Swissauto Wenko AG.

 

1998

First bench test run of a prototype.

 

2001

2001 First supply contract signing with French automobile manufacturer MATRA AUTOMOBIL.

 

2002

Supply contract signing with the POLARIS Corp., America’s No. 1 manufacturer for recreational applications.

 

2003

Start of series production for the 80 kW and 100 kW marine version engines.

 

2004

Exhibition of the MPE 750-powered SPLASH concept vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show and the Interboot in Friedrichshafen.

 

2005

First Running Engine MPE V4.

 

2006

Marine Powertrain with Jet Pump.

 

2007

First running vehicle with Serial/Parallel MPE 750 Hybrid Drive

 

2008

First test run of the 1-Cylinder MPE 425 for marine and hybrid applications

 

2009

Series start-up of the second generation 2-Cylinder MPE 850.

 

Outsourcing of  Weber Motor GmbH from  Weber Automotive GmbH.
